Responsibility for maintaining/mowing verges

Anfon at Oxfordshire County Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 9586974.
We live at 71 Henley Road and are not sure who has responsibility for maintaining/mowing verges in front of our property and alongside our fence down Brick Kiln Lane. We have recently mowed the - very uneven - patch on the corner but our lawnmower is not really up to the job. Also the brambles down Brick Kiln Lane are now becoming extremely invasive. We should very much appreciate clarification about responsibility for these areas and any scheduled clearance/mowing. Many thanks

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
