I am writing to bring to your attention a significant issue regarding the overgrown grass near the bus stop located at near the Nuneham Courtenay roundabout. As a resident of the area who frequently uses this bus stop, I have encountered numerous problems due to the unmaintained grass, particularly during wet conditions. The long grass currently reaches up to my knees, and when it is wet, it soaks my socks and damages my shoes. This not only causes considerable discomfort but also poses a serious safety hazard, as it increases the risk of slipping and falling. Given that many residents, including myself, rely on this bus stop for our daily commute, it is essential that this issue is addressed promptly. I kindly request that the council arranges for the grass to be cut and maintained regularly to ensure safe and comfortable access to the bus stop. This will greatly improve the safety and convenience for all residents who depend on public transportation in this area. Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your prompt response and a swift resolution.

Thank you for your enquiry. Oxfordshire County Council, as the Highway Authority, is ultimately responsible for the maintenance of grass verges alongside the carriageway network throughout Oxfordshire (excluding motorways and trunk roads). Under our new approach, all roadside verges in both rural and urban areas are cut once a year. If necessary, we will trim areas that impede driver visibility more regularly. For more details, you can refer to our Highway Verge and Vegetation Management policy at https://www.oxfordshire.gov.uk/ sites/ default/ files/ file/ roads-and-transport-major-projects/ grasscuttingpolicy.pdf
