10cm deep and 80cm wide pothole in the road

Driving home in the dark and the rain last night, we hit this pothole which was completely underwater and not visible. We immediately got a flat tyre. We have just investigated and seen the pothole reported many times over the past month on FixMyStreet so the council are aware. It is 10cm deep and 80cm wide which is shown in other people’s photos on that website. To get these pictures this morning, I had to take them out of a taxi window (taxi because I now have no driveable car!) so could not stop to measure it myself.
