  This issue remains unresolved.

  I believe the source of the problem is a blocked storm drain. During periods of heavy or prolonged rainfall, the drain is unable to cope and overflows, causing water to run across my driveway and accumulate against the wall of a residential annex.

  In an attempt to mitigate the immediate risk, we created a temporary trench across the verge. While this helped prevent water from entering the annex, it diverted the flow across the road, thereby creating a new flooding hazard.

  Over the winter months, as the water table rose, the drain remained in a near-constant state of overflow. Since March 2026, drier weather conditions have reduced the visible impact; however, this is due to reduced rainfall rather than any resolution of the underlying issue.
