National speed limit confusion

Area of A1 slip roads is a known accident blackspot. Much of local A43 has just seen a reduction to 50mph. New signs just erected near this junction (Which sees many accidents and near misses) actually indicate that the driver can now speed up to the national speed limit, from the new 50mph area leading into town, for 100m. This is spending tax payer money to increase danger.
