Following extensive excavation work by an electric supplier, the tarmac area of pavement immedately outside my mother's gate has sunk causing a serious risk of tripping. This work was carried out by the electric company in October and we were told by their inspected that the damage to the pavement would be repaired. Having followed up with the electric company today, they are now saying they are not responsible for the tarmac, only for replacing the paving slabs otherwise I would have reported this sooner.

These photos were taken on 26th Jan when a representative of the Council came to assess the damage to the pavement and agreed the repairs to the pavement were unacceptable. As of 26th Jan, the biggest gap in the paving, which is directly ouside my elderly mothers front gate and a regularly used public path with no light at night, was 12 inches long, 2 inches wide and 5 inches deep. The whole pavement is dipping in the middle, the paving stone by the gate has cracked and other gaps are starting to appear because the mortor between the slabs is literally disintergrating. I was told that a cover woud be put outside my mother's house by the end of that week until repairs could be made. That has still not happenend as at 10th Feb. The gap is now so big a walking stick or walker wheeler would go straight down it.

Longlands Road OX46BP. Someone from the Council already visited in late January. I was told it would be repaired within the week. In the meantime a cover would be put outside the gate as it can be walked on safely. Some of the other paving slabs have no mortar between them. The broken one by the gate now has movement. This is unsafe for my elderly mother and members of the public.

*URGENT * It is now 13th April and still nothing has been done, to rectify this issue despite promises that were made in January. It is urgent that this matter is resolved as soon as possible so that my Mother can exit her gate safely. In the meantime, I would like the promised pavement tench cover to be installed as soon as possible. As I have previously mentioned, she iss 88 years old and walks with a wheeled walker. This is a tripping hazard that has now been outstanding for almost 4 months and is getting worse. Does it take my Mother or a member of the public being injured for this matter to be taken seriously. Please can someone get in touch with me urgently.
