Carriageway narrowed by long-term debris build-up

The previous report has been closed incorrectly. This is not minor litter or cosmetic dirt. This is a long-term structural kerb channel failure where years of unaddressed debris and vegetation growth have physically reclaimed part of the live carriageway. The effective width of the road has been reduced by approximately one metre, and loose material is present within the running lane. This creates a serious and foreseeable risk of vehicle instability, skidding, loss of control and collision — particularly given that this is a busy route and known accident hotspot. This therefore meets the definition of a Category 1 highway safety defect, not a routine street cleansing issue. Closing this report without inspection places the authority at risk of liability should a collision occur at this location. I am requesting that this report is immediately reopened and referred to the Highways Safety / Network Management team for urgent on-site inspection and remedial works. Please confirm when this inspection will be carried out.
