Blocked gullies and drains not draining properly

Adroddwyd drwy desktop yn y categori Blocked Drain yn ddienw am 03:59, Gwen 7 Tachwedd 2025 using FixMyStreet Pro

Anfon at Bromley Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 8387060.

This has now been a problem for the whole year. We reported the issue to Bromey under two fix my street references 7909471 and earlier 7110467 but we believe the wrong drains were looked at initially and then blamed on Lewisham Council who now reassure us that these drains are the responsibility of Bromley Council. The drain is at the beginning of Beckenham Place Park outside the front door of The Gatehouse 24 Beckenham Place Park. When it rains the blocked gullies and full of sludge drains do not allow the water to drain properly. It is a danger as the significant flooding leads right to our front door and there is no other form of access to the building.

  • We were told in August that the drains were the responsibility of Lewisham council and this case had been passed across to them. We contacted them and they confirm they are not responsible for the drains in this road and neither has bromley council informed them that they had passed the case over. See email below :From: Business Support Highways @ Lewisham Sent: 07 November 2025 10:09 To: Redacted Subject: RE: Blocked drains and gulleys in Beckenham park place outside 24 Southend Road BR3 5AA Good morning Can confirm that we did not receive a notification from Bromley Council regarding the gully. If we had, we would’ve informed them that the gully is actually within their borough. Kindest regards Lewisham Highways Highways Department Public Realm Directorate Lewisham Council

After reviewing the location and responsibility, I can confirm that these gullies are not maintained by Bromley Council. They fall under the responsibility of Lewisham Council. While the enquiry refers to “Southend Road,” which is within Bromley, Beckenham Place Park itself is managed by Lewisham. I will refer this enquiry back to Lewisham Council for their review and action.
