DANGEROUS - Sunken manhole in main road

The manhole cover in the road has 'sunk' in comparison to the road dressing level, and so when traffic drives over it, thunderous bangs and vibrations are caused due to the sudden level change. These vibrations and bangs are horrendous at night time when HGVs and farm traffic travel up the road, to the point it keeps me awake as items rattle in my room.
Whilst observing how the traffic deals with this (just up the road from the extremely narrow footpath) I've also noticed that traffic will swerve around this 'pothole' (especially at night time as there is no street lighting) to avoid damaging their tyres, forcing oncoming traffic to either stop, suddenly brake or swerve as well, and as the A338 is a 'fast' road (people do not stick to the 30mph speed limit) with unlit narrow footpaths that are regularly used by families to and from the nearby school, it is a major health and safety hazard.
As you see in the attached images, the level difference has progressively gotten worse since July 2023, and appears to be an altered or new cover.
