The caravan in the photo appeared on Circular Road over a week ago. The curtains are open and it’s empty with the windows open. There is a gas canister lying on its side within the caravan storage area (see photo). The caravan is sitting in a dropped position, front end touching the ground.

Dear Neighbourhood Enforcement Team,
I am writing to give formal notice under Section 3(1) of the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978 regarding an abandoned caravan located at:
Circular Road Bristol - what three words location: origin.area.worth
Photos are attached to ensure identification. The caravan has been present since approximately the start of September 2025 , shows no sign of ownership or habitation, and appears to be derelict and abandoned within the meaning of the Act. It constitutes a hazard and eyesore on land in the open air under the control of Bristol City Council.
Under Section 3(1), the Council has a statutory duty to remove such abandoned vehicles. Please confirm within 14 days what steps the Council will take to comply with this duty.
If no substantive action is taken, I will consider escalating this matter to the Local Government & Social Care Ombudsman and may also pursue a complaint to the Magistrates’ Court under Section 91 of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 on the grounds that the caravan constitutes refuse.
