Narrowing of junction causing unforeseen issues

The narrowing of the northbound lane of the Evesham Road at the junction of the Evesham Road and Wellington Road is causing extremely long traffic jams - when a car in this lane wants to turn right it causes a huge tail back as drivers seeking to turn right seem incapable or moving forward and positioning themselves towards the right to let cars seeking to go straight on past. Unfortunately they seem to hang back and since the road as been narrowed to increased the pavement width at the new junction layout now cars cannot get past. I regularly have to wait for multiple light changes to move just 2 car lengths which seems absolutely ridiculous - all because people do not know how to drive and position their vehicle correctly to turn right! Perhaps some road markings to indicate that a car wishing to turn right should move forward and keep to the right of the lane so as not to block cars seeking to go straight on? This really is causing ridiculous and unnecessary hold ups!

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the issue will be provided.
