This park is in the Bromley Town Conservation Area. The principles of Conservation are not being applied. 'Conservation areas guidance Bromley Council has adopted guidance for various conservation areas to help define the special architectural and historic interest of these areas and to clarify why they merits 'designation'. They also identify the character of the area, and features which should be enhanced or conserved.

Features which may contribute to character include:

Historic and locally significant buildings green and open spaces significant views natural elements such as trees and waterways features which make the area locally distinct These documents are currently available on request but we are in the process of preparing this information to be made available on the website.' Examples: Significant Trees are being strangled by new self-established holly and other fast growing trees. The general woodland area is being over-run by ivy and brambles. Not only is this having a detrimental effect on the specimen tress but the extensive ground cover and lack of light reaching the ground is not helping bio-diversity. The general intensive abundance of secondary growth is also effecting public safety as the foliage can obscure clear views through the park, which can lead to anti-social behaviour.
