EV’s no longer able to charge vehicle due to signage

The EV chargers can no longer be used due to the changed signage for “electric vehicle charging/permit holders” - taking away EV charging points that permit holders don’t use & park non-EV cars & vans.

Cheltenham town centre is a desert when it comes to EV chargers without changing the ones that do exist to permit holders only, when local permit holders have no use for them.

I have already witnessed an MG electric vehicle, plugged in being charged with a traffic wardens parking ticket fixed on the windscreen, not sure how many others.

Please can these places be monitored with the look at changing these EV charging spots for use by All EV users as current policy is so anti-EV.

  • This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.

    If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.

    In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

    An update on the issue will be provided.
