The councils reply of "Landowners and occupiers are responsible for maintaining any boundary features on their property that adjoin public highways and affect highway safety. In this case, the highway appears to be impacted, so we will contact the land/property owner." "Investigation complete" is inadequate! The landowner is responsible for the ivy so the council are correct to notify the land owner (I've done the same thing) however the owner of Faringdon house is not responsible for the brambles, grass and weeds that narrow the path by approximately 60% on certain parts of the pavement! The council have tried to shift all responsibility onto faringdon house before completing an investigation. The council are at fault for not maintaining parts of this pavement, the result being trip hazards and barriers to use by wheelchair users.
