Urgent Road Surface Issues at Henley Road Roundabout

I am writing to report significant road surface damage and safety concerns at the roundabout on Henley Road and Brick Kiln Lane. The roundabout and surrounding areas, particularly the exit towards A4074, are currently affected by numerous deep potholes and uneven surfaces, which present serious risks to both vehicles and road users.
There are multiple large potholes along the entry points, exits, and the roundabout itself, as well as severe degradation of the road surface leading from Henley Road toward the A4074. This location, being heavily trafficked, is particularly vulnerable to the damage caused by the weight of lorries from nearby construction sites. As a result, the road has become increasingly hazardous, especially at night when the potholes and uneven areas are difficult to avoid.
In addition to the risk of vehicle damage, there is also a heightened risk of accidents, as many drivers are not adhering to the newly implemented 20 mph speed limit. The combination of deteriorating road conditions and high-speed traffic creates a dangerous environment for both motorists and pedestrians.
Due to the limitations on submitting photographic evidence, I am unable to provide documentation for all of the issues, though I can offer the three photos I have attached for reference.
I kindly request that the council take urgent action to repair these potholes and address the road surface damage to improve safety and prevent further deterioration.

I echo the concerns raised about the potholes and general state of the road at this location, which was observed on Saturday 9 February 2025

These are recurring potholes that have been fixed before but reappear in a very short period of time. Turning left onto Henley road is now at the stage of being dangerous . Please do something about it asap.

I echo the issues raised & as a local resident highlight that these numerous potholes are rapidly becoming wider & deeper, due to high traffic & large construction Lorries. I’m concerned a serious accident involving vehicles and or pedestrians might occur if someone needed to break suddenly and the surface didn’t allow the vehicle to stop safely. Please fix these potholes & road surface swiftly & thoroughly to avoid reappearance. Thank you.

Thank you for your report. After a thorough investigation and risk assessment, we have determined that the issue warrants immediate attention. 1 will be raised as 24hour repair the other smaller ones 28 days
