Dangerous/invisible ice issue

When there has been frost/ice overnight, at the entrance to the pedestrian path (that is undercover that is next to the Wells Road and crosses the railway line) the surface becomes incredibly slippy but the path surface doesn't appear frosty so pedestrians are not alerted to the danger. I have seen several pedestrians slip or fall at this point. If the surface cannot be fixed perhaps a sign could be put up to warn people of the potential fall hazard?
