Council trees adjacent to my home - large boughs growing over my garden now falling into garden

Adroddwyd drwy desktop yn y categori Trees and woodland yn ddienw am 00:26, Llun 2 Rhagfyr 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Anfon at Bath and North East Somerset Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 6807335.

Large trees in the council land adjacent to my garden are now extensively overhanging my garden and house. Some of the largest boughs grow over the fence and are now touching the ground in my garden. Large boughs have fallen in the wind and I believe the trees need pollarding or removal for safety reasons. They represent a hazard to the occupants of the house including my disabled son who is often in the garden. Please could you assess and advise. The map marks the area where the trees are located but the problem is best seen from my garden. Many thanks Peter Marden

  • My address is 47 Old Newbridge Hill. The trees are adjacent to the fence as marked on the map by the yellow pointer. They are on the land that is part of the wooded area around the Newbridge park and ride extension. If you enter my property the trees can be seen next to the fence at the bottom of the garden on the right side if looking down the hill. The best access to view them is via my garden. Thanks Peter

  • Thank you for your report. We have investigated your report and are now dealing with the issue. The council's land only borders this property for a length of 3m along the west side in the south west corner. The rest of the land that borders 47 Old Newbridge Hill is privately owned. An inspection of the council's trees along this 3m length will be carried out and appropriate action taken if any trees are found to be encroaching ont the neighbouring property.

  • Hi That’s great. Thanks for rapid response. I think the council land is slightly more extensive than you describe. I’m hoping you will see at the site assessment why I say that. I think it looks more like 8-10 metres. Please can you explain how you have reached the 3m figure? Obviously very grateful for all help received and I hope you don’t mind my questioning? BW peter

  • Ive reported this already? Believe told the tree had been cleared. Can you see how steep and potentially dangerous the top steps are without a hand rail
