Pavement and Kerb needs relaying

Outside house number 12: Requesting urgent attention to the condition of the pavement and kerb in our area, which has deteriorated significantly due to tree root damage. Currently, the roots have lifted and cracked the pavement, creating large fissures throughout the tarmac. Additionally, the roots have breached the kerb and nearby road, with offshoots appearing causing further damage.

The situation poses a serious risk, particularly where the lowered kerb leading up to the driveway has shifted. This has resulted in uneven, cracked surfaces, creating a significant trip hazard for pedestrians. The uneven displacement between the tarmac and concrete is especially dangerous for young children and others walking along the pavement, as they are more vulnerable to tripping on these irregular surfaces.

In light of the safety risks, I urge the council to prioritise repairs to the pavement, kerb border, and driveway area. Additionally, implementing preventive measures to control the growth of tree roots will help prevent further damage to the surrounding infrastructure.

    Hi, thanks for the work that’s been done so far - it’s appreciated. However, the other half of the pathway still hasn’t been completed and it’s continuing to deteriorate. There’s a hole in the pavement that’s getting noticeably bigger and deeper, and other sections are breaking down too. It’s becoming a serious trip hazard, especially for people walking through the area.

    Would it make more sense to resurface the whole pathway now, rather than keep patching things up bit by bit?

    Also, just to flag the kerb is still exposed, and the yellow barriers haven’t been collected yet.

    Thanks again, and hoping this can be looked into soon.

    I see you have marked out the area to be fixed. Thanks for taking a look so quickly.

    The surrounding area is also disintegrating. Would it be better to relay the entire area, rather than a small subsection, to avoid being called out again in 6 months time?
