Wrong road markings

Main road traffic only has a right-hand turn safe zone space in one direction but not the other direction. This is leading to unsafe driving such that drivers are using the only right-hand turn safe zone for both directions. It is only a matter of time before this causes a serious crash. Surely, this was a mistake in white-lining. If it was not a mistake, then you need to find another configuration of white lining for right-hand turns.

Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. We are already aware of the issue and looking at the police collision data for the period 2019-2023 shows one slight and one serious incident in 2019 and 2020 respectively. Although this is on our problem site list, it is not currently included in our shortlist of sites for possible funding from the 2025/26 Vision Zero programme given that there are many other sites with higher numbers of collisions. We would nevertheless be happy to consider funding lower cost measures you may judge to be helpful, if you could provide further details of any options via your parish council.
