Blocked drain College Road affecting St Luke's Road

Adroddwyd drwy mobile yn y categori The drain is damaged yn ddienw am 20:08, Dydd Iau 26 Medi 2024

Anfon at Gloucestershire County Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 6521257.

The drain indicated on the map does not work so water flows into St Luke's Road (from College Rd) where it sits alongside the curb, unable to drain away into any of the drains in this part of St Luke's Road. It is often quite deep so not easy to access our cars without getting wet feet. Also, weeds and plants are growing happily as earth, leaves etc are also swept into the area. This is not the first time there has been a complaint. Although the Council sprayed weed killer this summer after I asked for them to remove all the growth, they did not return to remove all the plants so nothing has been achieved. This problem has been ongoing since the curved pavement on College Rd (opp A&E entrance) was built quite a few years ago. With the recent rain its been particularly bad.

  • Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance

If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide

If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.

We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
