I am writing to bring to your immediate attention a serious issue affecting our local area: a blocked drain on B3349, Reading Road (Outside number 1) caused by excessive silt accumulation. This blockage has led to recurrent flooding during periods of rainfall, the issue has been ongoing for a number of years and we're lucky if we see the drains cleared out at least once a year.

Rain water is not able to drain effectively, leading to large pools of standing water, especially after moderate to heavy rainfall within a small timescale, the photos show the problem after only 3 minutes of moderate rain fall.

The standing water poses risks of accidents for pedestrians and motorists. Additionally, it may become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
