Ernest Heal Undertakers are on South Road, Broadwell.
Right opposite the undertakers is a small road leading up to Broadwell AFC. The problem is with the first house (our neighbour Mrs. Williams) whose house is right opposite Heal's on the other side of the road. There are two drains, one at the side of Mrs. Williams wall and another 20 yards up this road under our hedge (7, Poolway Road). Water cascaded down the road and the drains are blocked which caused flood water to enter Mrs. Williams garage, leaving silt and garden flooded. I cleared all the silt as best as possible, but the drains need clearing. The problem has been accentuated by the resurfacing of South Road last year, in that bewteen Heal's and the other side of the road, the road has been raised slightly and so the flood water does not flow any further down the small road. So, I think the key course of action is for the drains to be cleared. Happy to discuss this.

Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.
We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.
Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.
Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance
If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide
If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.
We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
