Blocked drain.

Adroddwyd drwy mobile yn y categori The drain is blocked yn ddienw am 13:57, Iau 15 Awst 2024 using FixMyStreet Pro

Anfon at Gloucestershire County Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 6360503.

The drain at the rear of the 4 Lampern View, on the left hand side of the drive, is completely blocked. When it rains it floods our drive . This is a long-standing issue. It has been reported a few times by myself and neighbours. Earlier this year I was assured that according to your records it had been cleared in summer 2023. I am dubious about this, as this drain has been blocked at least as long as I've lived at this property and no one has seen anyone clear it. I was told that the drain was due to be cleared routinely in 2024. There is no evidence that this has happened yet this year. My suspicion is that the drain is so badly blocked that council workers don't realise it is here.

  • Thank you for reporting a drainage or flooding issue.

We will investigate the issue. If additional clearance work is needed, the local highways team will prioritise the most urgent reports. Where possible, maintenance tasks will be grouped together in a schedule for efficiency.

Sometimes during periods of heavy rain, even a clear gully can be overwhelmed. Usually the water will drain away within an hour.

Every gully or drain the county council is responsible for is cleared at least once each year. Some drains in problem areas are cleared more frequently. You can find out more, including the gully emptying schedule on our website by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/highways/roads/road-maintenance

If your property is at risk of flooding please see the Flood Guide for advice and support by visiting www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/planning-and-environment/flood-risk-management/flooding-information/flood-guide

If you are driving: please never ignore road closures or enter flood water. This could put you or others in danger and invalidate your insurance.

We will provide updates about this report. Thank you again for taking the time to report this issue.
