Poor condition of road and bad repair of potholes.

I am compelled to report to you the condition of the London Road opposite the entrance to St Peters Cemetery. The road has deteriorated over the last 15 months and has been reported numerous time and has had temporary tarmac patches to fill the potholes.

This is an extremely busy road which has a continual flow of heavy vehicles pass over this road. The bungalows at 1920a and 1920c vibrate severely when heavy vehicles pass, primarily due to road-surface defects. The worst of the vibrations is on the side of the London Road heading up towards the M74 away from Celtic Park.

There is unevenness of the road and the potholes are causing damage to our properties , our property has been recently refurbished and several cracks have appeared, these are extremely concerning and have been checked by our builder who has asked us to contact the council immediately.

We have been residents since 2021; and the problem has never been this acute. My local MP has written to the council several times and there have been some patching of the road which only lasts so long. With the amount of HGV vehicles and football traffic travelling along the road the temporary fixes are not the solution and are making life an absolute misery.

The house vibrations have considerably increased over the past 4 months, when the vehicles passes heading towards the M74 we have had pictures fall off the wall and glasses rattling in kitchen cupboards.

We are very concerned about the effect it is having on the structure of the property and our wellbeing. As the large vehicles, buses, vans, trucks pass these two areas of the road, the vibrations are felt regularly. It's turning out to be a nightmare as we feel the vibrations every few minutes a vehicle passes and disturbs our sleep. We would really appreciate urgent action so the house vibrations do not cause further damage to the property.
