Anfon at Bromley Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 6140170.

If there is large gust of wind this will pull the cables and break.

Please could you trim these branches back - thank you.

  • Please see full details at Tree Management Strategy Trees – London Borough of Bromley

Some of the key points include the following.

The Council will not prune or remove trees in relation to the following: • Branches overhanging properties • Lack of light • Where a tree is thought be overly large • Interference with solar panels or satellite, TV, or other media reception • Branches and/or limbs in physical contact with telephone wires • Leaf fall • Fruit fall • Shedding of small twigs • Problems associated with pollen • Excreta caused by insects or birds • Obstruction of the view from house windows

  • As per the Bromley Tree Management Strategy, we do not prune trees interfering with utility cables or phone lines. Our policy is based on the 1984 Telecommunications Act whereby these service providers are obligated to maintain their network in good working condition using the monthly fees customers pay. In the case of phone cables, please contact OpenReach. In the case of power cables, contact UKPN. These companies are responsible for the repair and upkeep of their cable network including pruning back of street trees. They have specialist utility arboriculture teams to work near these lines which may involve the temporary disconnection of services.

  • This tree has been inspected and is not considered to require remedial works at this time. Bromley will only undertake works to a tree for an identified health & safety or highway obstruction issue. The situation will be reviewed cyclically and any required action will be addressed within a future works programme.

  • We are sorry to hear that OpenReach has provided incorrect information to the LBB Resident. However, it is OpenReach's responsibility to clear the wires and ensure that their customer has good clear phone connection and that is why a monthly Line Rental fee is levied. As explained, this issue is regulated by the Telecommunications Act and is explained on the LBB web page and it is this Act that is the basis for the LBB Tree Management Strategy. We cannot provide further assistance as our crews do not clear or work around any overhead cables. We suggest you raise a Complaint with Open Reach.
