Incorrectly repaired pavement

My understanding Under the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, contractors must reinstate the pavement to its original condition after completing their work. This typically means replacing paving slabs rather than using temporary materials like tarmac as has been done here. This needs to I be fixed. The market place area will look a mess if contractors are allowed to replace the paying with ugly strips of tarmac

This report has now been passed to the Highways team for assessment.
If repair work is required, it will either be classed as urgent or will be put into a planned programme of works to ensure it is repaired as efficiently as possible.
In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.
An update on the issue will be provided.
