Big pothole, right next to Saddington Reservoir

I didn't get to take a picture but you can see the pothole on the Google maps picture. My car went down it which popped my front right tyre (didn't notice it was there as it was full with water)... Not sure if there was also a drain of some kind.
A woman passed by some moments after it happened and mentioned that it had happened to someone else only a week before me and their entire wheel had been messed up and completely ruined that side of the car as the wheel came off?
