Light sensor is not detecting vehicles problem

email rcvd 19.02.24 - I`m having to send my message this way because there is not a link on your report a problem for highways which is appropriate.
The traffic lights at the entrance to Sudmeadow Road, Gloucester GL2 5HD constantly change to RED along the main dual carriageway when there are no vehicles waiting to leave Sudmeadow Road. Local vehicles are now crossing the red light because they can see there are no vehicles waiting to leave Sudmeadow road. Is there a reason for the lights to stop traffic on the main dual carriageway? If not can this problem be rectified.
At night for some reason all along this main road up to Quedgeley change to red on the main road. Is there a reason for this? To keep stopping vehicles and the same vehicles having to start again is not very environmentally friendly creating more exhaust fumes and also causes drivers to get angry because they are made to stop for no reason.
