A pothole in road problem

Adroddwyd yn y categori A pothole in road am Gloucestershire County Council

Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 5604214.

Good afternoon

At 5.15am this morning I was driving down North Road West when I went down a massive pothole.

It shook my car really badly and I had to stop and look around the car as I thought I had caused damage. I now have a knocking noise when I turn the wheel which I didn't have before. The impact even made my dash air freshener pop off which is glued on.

On my way home I stopped to take the picture attached. 2 workmen there said a supervisor was in his way as they couldn't patch it and the road needs shutting and a bigger patch putting in.

What's the next steps as my car is now damaged as a result of this pothole.

Regards

  • Thank you for reporting a pothole.

First, a safety inspector will visit the location to assess whether a repair needs to be completed and plan the work needed. Works are prioritised based on the urgency of the situation. The council aim to repair all significant potholes (more than 4cm deep and 30cm wide) within 28 days.

In some cases a temporary repair will be needed, to make the area safe, then engineers will return to make a permanent repair.

We will provide updates about this report.
