Cars ignoring red light and driving through pedestrian crossing on green

Cars are routinely jumping the red light at this junction, to such an extent that they are driving through the pedestrian crossing when the green light for pedestrians is showing. I walked home at about 5.15pm today and as I was about to cross two cars drove straight through when the light was green for pedestrians. If I was blind and relying on the crossing sound I would have been knocked over. Please either extend the time between red for cars and green for pedestrians, or install a red light camera to stop drivers jumping the lights.
