Flooded drain

Drains in Redlands Lane were cleared yesterday. After overnight rain, the drain outside my house was blocked allowing rain water to pass over it and flood the rest of the road. This has only occurred since the drain was cleared!! We have lived here for 40 yrs and have never had a problem with this drain. The picture was taken since rainfall had subsided. The drain is still full up. Workmen returned today to clear other drains and I pointed out the problem to them. They were unable to resolve the problem. Furthermore, the drains that have been cleared are the ones that are visible ie the ones I keep clear near my house. The rest are out of site under debris mainly caused by hedge cuttings. Local land owners should be responsible for keeping the drains clear that adjoin their land. This would save the Council a lot of money.
