Surface is damaged problem

Adroddwyd yn y categori Surface is damaged am Gloucestershire County Council

Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 5395299.

1 .Path
I have a public right of way running directly outside of my house . It’s a tarmac path which slopes gently and is in good condition but gets a mossy covering . . This path was constructed by the housing developer but it is an established PROW so sadly not the responsibility of the estate . So I have to come to you with my concern

This path becomes extremely slippery which I think might be due to the surface that was put down as it doesn’t actually look that bad. As it only takes a bit of moss then a bit of rain to make this path treacherous. I have now fallen twice on this path as have others. Also if we get a frost and it only takes a dusting of frost over the surface to turn this path into a ice rink . Again it doesn’t look bad and you wouldn’t expect it to be slippery but it can be lethal. Residents who know this either walk down on the edge on the grass/ mud which is safer . But if you don’t know it’s a problem and you can be in trouble .
I do try to help . I clear leaves etc from the path and try and clear the big lumps of moss. But it’s the green sheen in the centre of the path which I can’t sort and is the most dangerous bit
