Potential injury or damage waiting to happen

Anfon at Bury Borough Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 5343645.
I love trees and the last thing I want is for one to be removed. However, this tree was reported a couple of years back as splitting in half and being dead on 1 side. I worry the recent storms have weakened it more. This branch came down during the night. What will break off next? And, what injury or damage will it cause? This tree is on a primary school run. Just saying.

The tree is still standing 1 month later. I've heard no response from the council. The branch is still there but someone kindly shifted it to ginnel at the side of our row of houses. I can imagine with the recent freeze thaw going on, the crack may have become worse. I'm concerned about the Amber warning for wind this weekend. If the tree comes down on a car there will be trouble as it was reported well over a year ago.

Still not fixed. Luckily enough, the tree is still standing. The council refused to remove the large branch that fell off because, 'in the interest of safety,' due to blocking the public footpath on a primary school route, it was moved to an opposite ginnel by a neighbour out of harms way. But, the ginnel is unadopted. To say I'm disappointed at the pettiness is an understatement!! My neighbour has now done your job for you by taking a saw to it, risking personal injury to cut it up and transporting it to the tip.
