Drains overflowing

The drain o/s 32 Fleet Road overflows every time it rains as do the drains between it and the West Heath roundabout. This contributes to the flooding by the roundabout already reported on this website. The overflowing drains are also causing the standing water that has caused numerous potholes along this stretch of carriageway

The huge puddle that stretches almost half way across the road,close to West Heath roundabout, indicates that the issue with these 3 drains has not been addressed yet.

HCC say it is being ‘actioned’ but don’t give details of what action or when

Road still floods at the roundabout and water levels still clearly visible in the other 2 drains which suggests either it still hasn’t been attended or the planned work to remedy the issue was unsuccessful.

Drains still overflowing and puddles reaching out into carriageway. No aware that any work has been carried out to attempt to remedy this issue, if it has then it was unsuccessful

Local councillor came round (can we count on your vote in upcoming election?) and claims it is all Network Rails fault as there is a blocked gulley somewhere. Oh well, let’s just accept the water feature and the fact that my car when parked on the drive gets splashed by dirty water every time someone drives through it. Other neighbouring drains also overflowing still.

Road currently undergoing pothole repairs and some resurfacing so unsure what has been done at the drain closest to the roundabout where the road usual floods across the carriageway. Rain forecast for the weekend so will be able to check then

It rained last night and the drain still has a piddle around it so the surface water is not completely draining away so will lead to potholes appearing in the newly ‘repaired’ road surface.

According to one network there should have been works carried out 5-7 June. According to signage works are due from 10 June. Apparently there is silt blocking carriageway gullies so it remains to be seen when work will actually commence on resolving this issue

The proposed works by water company didn’t happen, and whilst the resurfacing of the road has reduced the flooding at the roundabout, the drains approaching the roundabout are still unable to cope with the flow of water so are still overflowing.
