I regularly walk along the pathway that runs along at the rear of Harwood Avenue/side of Glades car park. For the last couple of months (most evenings around 8.30-9pm) a very large white XL Bully/Mastiff has been off the lead in this small park/grass area. Every time I walk along the path the dog charges towards the fence and barks aggressively at me, then jumps up at the fence separating the small green area and this pathway. I have also seen it run towards and bark aggressively at many other people using this pathway. Thankfully there is a 6 foot wire mesh fence between us, but it’s very scary. I fear it will break through or climb over the fence at some point. I’m also very concerned that it could cause an older citizen or young child some serious problems as it shows aggression towards everyone using the path. The dog is usually walked by a woman in her mid 40’s, more recently she has has one of her legs in a cast. However, the last few days this dangerous dog has been walked by a man in his early 20’s.

I was walking down the alleyway on Sunday and Monday nights between 8.45 and 9pm when this very large white dog, which was on the small park side of the alleyway ran up to the fence and started barking at me and another person who was walking some distance behind me. It scared the life out of me. It barked at me both nights.
I don’t think it’s an XL Bully x Mastiff, I think it’s a Dogo Argintino Cane Corso, which is very large. It was off the lead. I didn’t see where the owner was, I wasn’t going to hang around to find out. I was just thankful it didn’t jump the 6ft fence or run around either side of the fence.

The dog was there again on Thursday night in this small green/wooded area. It’s a pure white dog and was wearing a navy blue jumper. The dog definitely has all the appearance of a Dogo Artgintino, which is a banned bread. Unless the owner has a DEFRA licence, but even then it shouldn’t be off lead and should be muzzled. It’s still jumping up at the fence and barking at people.

Sorry about the autocorrect. It should read banned breed.

This dog was on the green again, off lead, not under control on Monday night around 9pm. It was wearing a blue jumper. It definitely looks like the banned breed Dogo Argintino. Something need to be done before someone gets injured.

The third photo is from the internet. The dog was there as usual during the week. It’s regularly there around 8.45-9.15pm, having made its was along Kentish Way from the Elmfield Road end, where they cross over towards Stockwell Close and then to the green space at the back of Harwood Avenue and the civic centre/Glades car park. Dogo Argintino’s were banned in the UK in 1991, so should not exist in the UK. It was off lead, not muzzled, not under control, but it should not be in the UK! Please do something about this dog, I am concerned someone is going to get hurt as this breed were banned for a good reason.
