Phasing of traffic lights means long waits for pedestrians

Adroddwyd drwy mobile yn y categori Traffic lights yn ddienw am 07:21, Iau 28 Medi 2023

Anfon at Bristol City Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 5039410.

The crossing is far too much in favour of traffic travelling along Muller Road, which means the wait time to cross after pressing the button (at the pedestrian crossing) is a ludicrous amount of time over a minute. It allows vehicles through which aren't even in sight. Traffic throughout the day is stop start, so there are drivers barely moving any distance when pedestrians could be safely crossing instead.

In addition : This is an important commuter route for cyclists on the Concorde Way so there should be no such bias for traffic travelling along the Muller Road. This ludicrous wait time will lead to an accident unless it is put back to how it was until about a month ago, where the wait time was sensible and just a few seconds at most.

The wait time is creating unnecessary danger to cyclists and pedestrians.

  • No. Still a ridiculous long wait for pedestrians whilst motorists make little progress due to the lights a hundred metres or so at the junction with Shaldon Road. This is meant to be a Sustrans route “Concorde way” for walking & cycling.
