Unlawful Encampment on Highway

Yet another old dropping to bits unregistered caravan arrived in Waterside Road so joining the ones that are unlawfully Encamped on the Highway after totally ignoring the Councils serving of orders to leave immediately back in August. Let's be clear. We have a group of single adult males who are not homeless but use these as a base whilst they work or conduct other activities. There is no respect or care for the Residents or safety of other road users. Rubbish is dumped in the highway and other deleterious toxic waste which is a health risk. Petrol is stored to run generators on the highway which is a fire risk. There is a road safety risk. Meanwhile the Residents who do pay Council Tax have observed a lack of positive follow up action and Duty of Care by Torbay Council which has caused and is continuing to cause, unnecessary harassment, alarm and distress to law abiding Residents and Road Users, whilst they go about their everyday life and business.
