I have on 3 separate occasions occasions had tree maintenance men this year knock on my door to tell me the tree is dead and needs to be removed. Each time there has been a car parked in front of it so they have not been able to do it, but promised to leave cones to reserve the space so they could come back and do it. Each time nothing was done. We have had large branches fall off, hitting cars and pulling down phone lines over last 1-2 years as the tree is clearly failing. Please can you arrange for someone to remove the tree before more damage occurs. Cones will be needed as people park in the road for the park. Tree outside number 9.

We have asked our contractors to remove this tree. LBB Tree officers cannot determine when the contractors will remove the tree or affect if the local residents respect the no parking signs. We kindly ask all residents to comply with No Parking Signs so that contractors can do their work. Local residents may also wish to help alert others in the road when the signs are placed. Please note that two separate crews attend the felling and then the stump removal using specialist equipment.

Please accept our apologies for the delays. These works have been removed from our incumbent contractor and given to a third party contractor. We anticipate these will be completed within the next 6 to 8 weeks.

Hi. The issue is not resolved. The half dead tree has not been touched. And branches are likely to fall off. Your own maintenance men almost a year ago identified it need to be removed and replaced, as per my original report where on 3 separate occasions I was advised this would be done.
It still needs rectification

We apologise on behalf of one of our service providers. Unfortunately, the tree contractor has reported to us that the work was completed. Contractually, they are obliged to ensure they complete this work. We are monitoring this case closely to ensure their compliance. Unfortunately, we cannot give a time frame as to when the works will be carried out, but we will continue to pressure for it to be done soon as possible.

I can confirm the tree has now been cut down and a stump has been left. Please can you advise when the stump will be removed and a new tree planted?

The tree has been felled and a stump of at least 1m high has been left in situ, this is to safeguard pedestrians from the tree pit area until such time as a stump removal and grind can take place. Tree stump removal is typically scheduled to take place within a month of the tree removal but as a non-urgent task can be delayed if other health & safety priority workloads are required of our contractor.
The location has also been added to our database for a replacement tree which we intend to plant during the next tree planting season which runs from November to March. Until that time the tree pit will be staked, again to safeguard pedestrians from the tree pit area.
