Road maps and satnav still showing Church Hill as open to vehicular traffic.

A significant number of cars, vans and lorries are still trying to access the slip road onto the A23 in Pyecombe via Church Hill, which is a dead end. This causes problems when the vehicles then try to reverse or turn out, damaging verges and scratching parked cars. Is it possible for WSCC to inform the satnav companies of this dead end? The Tom Tom satnav map, for example, still shows the road as open to vehicles and linking to the A23. Your help on this would be much appreciated.

  • Although some satnav companies have agreed to amend their maps of this site to show there is no through road, not all of them have. Garmin in particular have a complex report system that requires the customer to quote the details of their Garmin satnav - and since I don't have one, that is difficult. They don't seem to be able to handle people who don't own their software talking to them. West Sussex County Council have replied to say they do not engage with satnav companies to clarify these issues - unhelpful.
