Safety of Pedestrian Crossing at Budds Lane/Camp Road junction, Bordon

I am concerned about the safety of pedestrians crossing this junction. In particular using the crossing north of the junction on Camp Road. I often cross here from east to west, usually to walk down Budds Lane. Since the junction was 'improved' in 2019 on several occasions (at least 3) I have stepped onto the crossing and been unable to cross without stopping to let vehicles travelling north, to pass in front of me. The drivers have either not seen me or been completely unaware of the existence of the crossing.The latest incident on Monday 4 September left me shocked and angry. This crossing is in regular use and is particularly busy with Oakmoor School students crossing at peak times during the school term. A full and proper review of the layout of this junction is urgently required before there is a serious accident resulting in injury or worse.

  • If there is anyone out there who has experienced a similar problem, please report it. The auto response system on this site does not inspire me with confidence. The status of a problem can apparently exist in only three states, ‘fixed’, ‘not fixed’ or ‘don’t know’. I asked for a review of the crossing to be carried carried out. Last I heard, it was ‘in progress’ .
