Since registration as a TVG on 22 August this year the existence of the fence has become criminal as it sits inside the TVG boundary. The law is clear. Cotham School as tenant are liable as is the council as landowner. There has been no communication from the school indicating any intention to remove the fence despite the decision being taken to accept the TVG application on 28 June. In addition, the fence constitutes a Public Nuisance. To comply with the law the council should be enforcing the decision taken and the subsequent TVG registration, compelling the school to remove the fence and preferably updating those who brought the application as to the timetable of work. This is a time sensitive issue - the relationship between school and community has been difficult at best and the silence from the school and inaction regarding fence removal is seen as defiance of the law, and disrespect and contempt of the process, the council and the community.

No, despite the fence breaking a law by being there - a criminal not civil offence - Cotham School who have responsibility for it have not had it removed nor advertised any plans to do so. Bristol City Council as landlord are reluctant to enforce.

Since registration on 22 Aug the fence has been there illegally. It absolutely disrupts use and enjoyment of the village green - there’s a petition on 38 degrees with nearly 3k signatures attesting to this. It is a Public Nuisance as well as criminally illegal and Bristol City Council should enforce the law and make their tenant Cotham School (who don’t even use the space) remove it.

Some panels have come loose or come down. They are unsafe so , presumably, local people have moved them to the hedges and put hazard tape on the remaining posts to prevent accidents. This needs addressing.
