The pictures speak for themselves. I reported this before. You waited months before sending someone out and then we were into a long dry spell so hey presto, no problem. The other issue about the overgrown vegetation was ignored entirely. Weather now back to normal and steady flow across footway also back to normal. This is within the limits of the bus lane scheme so you have contractors on site already. A site instruction with sketch plan could sort this out. Happy to draft it myself for you if you can't manage that.

In my supplementary picture is an example of one of the several cross-footway channels that must have been installed here to deal with this problem in the distant past. All are now blocked hence the flow across the surface. You may be able to rod or jet them but I suspect that replacement will be necessary. The source of the water is from what appears to be the allotment land which I think is owned by BCC so you will have to chase yourselves to sort it out. The fact that you need to renew something already there may help you to convince the bean counters that this is essential maintenance as opposed to an improvement which may or may not help with getting the money. This really does need to be sorted out sooner rather than later. As well as old people like me there are 100 to 200 schoolchildren going each way twice a day during term time. Please also don't forget the overgrown vegetation issue which blocks the footway for anyone over 1.5m tall. Tree roots are another problem which I will report separately if I can summon up the energy.

Still not fixed. The water problem may be a bit tricky to solve but it's very slippery underfoot there and highly dangerous with the proximity of the traffic. Vegetation continues to grow and encroach on the footway pushing pedestrians towards the live trafffic lane. Construction traffic across and along live traffic lanes adds to hazard. No banksman used or indeed any attempt made to control pedestrians when construction vehicles reversing across public routes.

It’s winter now. The fallen leaves and constant water flow is a major hazard. When temperatures drop even further; there’s going to be an ice rink mixed with leaves for school people, residents and shopper of Aldi & Lidl to fall over and potentially get injured.

This area is an ice rink. The picture shows an older lady being helped across the ice! The road has traffic thundering past, should pedestrians take their chances with the road instead!?

Why no action or even response yet? You have all the nice words about prioritising pedestrians etc. yet this problem is just ignored. It would cost very little to fix compared to the hundreds of thousands that are being thrown at fixing "potholes" to placate the motoring lobby. ACTION NOW!!

Imho the water is historical ground water from higher up that would have flowed to the river. Certainly it's been there 30years, I vaguely remember there was some grating by the fence, but council policy is more or less prune hardly ever and leave it where it falls, I've litter picked but as yet Haven't swept the gunge of the path, if someone would that might help but there could be possible repercussions if someone slipped after.

Two of the diagonal cemented in ducts are oblong cast iron, the one with a lot of mortar missing is a plastic pipe, all clogged. There may have been a French drain or something. Where most of the ground water is now flowing is by lamppost 32 no diversions. Don't know if ducts and French drain cleared then all water would flow through them instead. I have made reports years ago, litter, leaf litter , overgrown vegetation, nothing changed. A local cut the vegetation back.
