Vandalism to memorial bench on Downs

This is a follow up to the report I sent in yesterday about damage done to the memorial bench I had set up for my late husband. The top wooden rail of the bench was torn off (this included the brass plaque) on Friday night. I saw it for myself today and include photos showing the damage. All the empty drinks bottles and cans have been cleared away. If that was done by someone from the council I thank you. I have also notified the police (crime reference number 202304290742). The bench is treasured not only by me and my family but by friends and many people unknown to us that I have encountered so I do hope that it can be repaired as soon as possible. It is the second anniversary of my husband's death at the beginning of July and the family is organising a conference in his honour with participants from all over the UK and other parts of the world. I am sure that some of them will want to see the bench if it is repaired. I will order a new plaque for it.
