Drain blocked
Adroddwyd drwy desktop yn y categori Roads/highways yn ddienw am 11:03, Llun 27 Mawrth 2023
Anfon at West Sussex County Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 4363074.
The drain in front of Pantiles is blocked and there is a lot of standing water, even though most of the roads and pavements are now dry. I believe Thames Water are aware of a mains leak in the area, but this would appear to be related more to the recent rain not draining away.

This is still as issue But more dangerous as the cats passing is causing water to sit in the pavement which in turn has caused the pavement to be slippery and now OAP’s, dog walkers and people with push chairs are choosing to walk in the road rather than face the slippery path This is so dangerous now as cats do not go 30 this is such a hazard to pedestrians Fix this

Still a problem. I now have two references for this issue. The first is: 3081149 and despite telling them I already had a ref for it, I've been given another one, 3225883, should you wish to contact them directly. And this is what I was told: "Please be advised that works for jetting of the drainage system, root cutting & a CCTV survey is already in the system, with an estimated completion date of on or before Monday 03/04/23. Please note that this is a provisional date subject to prioritisation against all other such works for the entire county due to limited resources & severe budget constraints." Apparently, health and safety in Rudgwick seems to be a low priority. Additionally, I was asked to send additional photographs via an email address, which doesn't work!

Update from WSCC Highways: "Thank you for your report we can confirm we have previously attempted to clear the system, however a blockage was recorded by the crew with possible root infestation. We have duly raised a follow up CCTV job to determine the issue so that we progress the matter. Currently this is planned for July 23. For note we operate a rolling program which can shift in both directions as such unfortunately we cannot be more specific at this time. Kind regards Highways Team."

July!!! What about the dangerous path.???? There is a build up of algae on the path. Due to the drain not working so people are walking in the road. Or It’s a matter of time before an accident, someone slipping over. What are you going to do to prevent this?
