No crash barrier

I am a regular pedestrian at that crosses from london road over saltmarket using the traffic light pedestrian crossing .

I have noticed that whilst standing at the lights outside the Tollbooth Pub, There is no barrier protection from oncoming cars on the left hand lane coming from high street.

The two lanes from high street are not lined up with the two lanes in saltmarket street which requires drivers to notice this and adjust the direction.

This is an extremely busy route and i have noticed multiple close calls where drivers have not noticed the Chicane and almost mounted the pavement.

I believe this puts the pedestrian at an unnecessary risk that could be avoided with use of a simple small barrier.
