Road traffic offence

• Whatever you were told to fob you off, I don't believe is right.

  I am fairly sure it is NOT a minor offence as it involves dangerous motor vehicle usage and in fact is so serious that a vehicle can legitimately be confiscated and crushed. The reason being, electric scooters count as powered transporters, which have zero insurance, pay zero tax, have no licence, and have no number plates. They're motor vehicles. They're not assisted. They're not for people with disabilities. The UK road networks are not suited for them and never will be. That's why they're still illegal.

  If the police aren't interested in doing parts of their job then they should have their funding sanctioned. Perhaps this is something for the media too, if Hampshire Constabulary are happy to go on record for ignoring the quite significant threat of illegal motorised, uninsured, vehicles?

  If the police don't have time to deal with this problem then that begs the question how they have time to sit around in vans pointing cameras at vehicles in areas which are not high risk.

  Writing that article, then not actually acting on it, wouldn't exactly be good.
