Hedge obstructing

Adroddwyd drwy desktop yn y categori Other yn ddienw am 13:50, Gwen 9 Gorffennaf 2021

Anfon at Arun District Council a West Sussex County Council llai na munud yn hwyrach. Cyfeirnod FixMyStreet: 2852719.

This hedge makes it very difficult for drivers emerging from Firs Avenue to see eastbound traffic, especially cyclists, on Felpham way. I have seen long saloon cars having to drive into Felpham Way, be it a short distance, so drivers can see what's coming. The Highways Act 1980 (Section 154) says that the highway authority have to protect the safety of highway users by ensuring that owners and occupiers carry out their legal duty to maintain roadside hedges and trees.

Owners and occupiers are required to: Trim hedges and trees to ensure growth does not obscure the view of road signs trim roadside hedges to maintain visibility for road users, particularly at junctions and on the inside of bends trim any hedge that directly abuts a road, footway, cycleway or public right of way so that growth does not prevent the passage or affect the safety of the highway user, including cyclists and pedestrians.
