Overgrown weeds / grass in road edge and pavement area

Right opposite our house, all in the road next to the kerb edge, are overgrown weeds and grass and this is also along the pavement edge next to a brick wall. These weeds are now nearly four feet tall and the grass in the road is about 4-5” wide, which is starting to slow down the flow of rainwater into the drainage gullies. This is on the other side of the road from our house and is very unsightly.
