Potholes are approx 1 foot deep and 2 feet long. The area of West Chiltington Road immediaately after the junction with Mare Hill Road and also just after the junction of the road to Nutbourne is particularly bad.

The condition of this stretch of road has been bad for the last couple of years. Attempts to patch individual potholes prove to be a complete waste of time and money as a cold night or heavy shower of rain simple washes any filling away. The road is dangerous and so bad that you have to weave your way around the worst of it risking the possibility of an accident with oncoming traffic. These are Third World road conditions which we should not have to put up with! The road is in desperate need of a complete resurface and not just a temporary fix.
