Drivers approaching Bewbush Manor Roundabout from Pease Pottage, who wish to turn left do so from the right hand lane.

I was approaching Bewbush Manor Roundabout in the left hand lane from Pease Pottage as I wanted to go straight to Bewbush. A few seconds after entering the roundabout, a driver approaching it in the right hand lane tried to take the left turn and hit my car. My car was a 'write-off'. Seeing me perplexed at his mistake, the driver explained to me that "people do it all the time." I did not believe him until it happened again almost a year to the day, a few days ago, only this time it was a near miss. It would have been a nasty accident as the driver was going very fast. Both times were not at rush hour but on a Sunday evening at about 6pm. This was about the tenth time I had taken this route over the last year and I will never be using it again. Do drivers think that there are only two exits at the roundabout, left or right and that if you are in the left hand lane, you will be turning left? The green road sign before the roundabout suggests this because you can hardly see the mark for the Bewbush exit so it looks like there is no road there. However, on the white road sign just before the roundabout, the Bewbush exit is clearly visible but do drivers take notice? Could it be that having just come off a motorway, drivers feel they are going too slow and are in a rush and because maybe 99 percent of drivers turn left they presume every driver will do this? Something has to be done to stop this behaviour. In all my seventeen years as a driver, I have never experienced anything so dangerous. There WILL be a serious accident on this roundabout soon.
